Why Reading & Journaling is Important to Me

RigellThere is simply no greater blessing than to know that God has written us a personal love letter: the Bible. Through it I am taught how to approach and respond to life's challenges; how to determine what is most important in life; how to best relate to God and others; how to teach my children, love my wife, and handle my finances. There is no aspect of life that God has not given us clear direction through His Word. Journaling has helped me stay focused and remember what I read. If we record our petitions, our cares, concerns, and praises, we have a tangible, & very personal record of God's faithfulness to us. David Rigell

PriceThe most important change I have made for 2010 was reading the Bible daily and writing in my journal. I find that spending time with the Lord in the morning before the troubles of the day, reminds me not to be anxious about anything, but to suit up with God’s armor and do battle with purpose. I look forward to my time with the Lord. What a blessing! Bill Price

I have fSteve_Scaliciound that when I'm in the Word, it is much easier for me to hear God and to follow Him. I'm still amazed at how often I use what I read each morning during that same day. There is nothing that has happened in my life that hasn't been solved in Scripture.
It is the blueprint for life. Steve Scalici

Over the years I have read my Bible, mainly when it occurred to me to do so or when I was troubled and needed to find words of comfort or reassurance, but not on a regular basis. This year when I began my journey of reading through the New Testament on an organized daily agenda and began to write my discoveries and thoughts in my journal what a blessing it has been. What a blessing to look back at what I have learned from my daily notes. What wonderful discoveries I have found. It has truly been a life changing experience. Colin Wright
